Sausages, Mashed Potatoes, and Buttered Corn
Ingredients:
For the mashed potatoes:
4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
2 tbsp butter
1/4 cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
For the cheese sauce:
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup milk
1 tbsp butter
For the corn:
1 cup sweet corn kernels
1 tbsp butter
Pinch of salt and pepper
For the sausage:
2 sausages of your choice (chicken, pork, or beef)
1 tsp olive oil
Instructions:
Prepare the mashed potatoes:
Boil the diced potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes.
Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
Cook the corn:
In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add corn kernels and season with salt and pepper. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until warmed through.
Make the cheese sauce:
In a small saucepan, melt butter. Stir in milk and shredded cheddar cheese. Heat until smooth and creamy, then pour over the mashed potatoes.
Cook the sausages:
Slice the sausages into bite-sized pieces. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook until browned and crispy on the edges.
Assemble the plate:
Arrange the mashed potatoes with cheese sauce, buttered corn, and sausage slices on a plate. Serve warm and enjoy.
