Ingredients:

– 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
– 8 oz cream cheese, softened
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup fresh blueberries
– 1 tablespoon lemon zest
– 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
– Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
5. Sprinkle lemon zest and evenly distribute fresh blueberries over the cream cheese layer.
6. Carefully roll the pastry into a tight log starting from one long edge.
7. Slice the roll into 1-inch thick pieces and place them cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
8. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
