Olive Garden Alfredo Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

One half cup butter
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
One half cup grated Romano cheese
2 ounces cream cheese optional for extra creaminess
3 cloves garlic minced
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 pound fettuccine or pasta of your choice

Instructions:

Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Make the Alfredo Sauce
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Add the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Add the cream cheese if using and stir until it melts and is fully incorporated.
Add the Cheese
Slowly whisk in the Parmesan and Romano cheeses until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
Season the Sauce
Taste and season with salt and black pepper as needed.
Combine and Serve
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly. Serve hot with extra grated Parmesan and a sprinkle of parsley if desired.
