Shawarma Sauce
Ingredients:
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon ground paprika
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions:
Combine Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, tahini, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth.
Add the minced garlic, ground cumin, ground paprika, ground coriander, ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir until all the spices are well incorporated.
Season and Adjust:
Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
Drizzle in the olive oil and stir until the sauce is well combined and smooth.
Chill:
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Serve:
Use the shawarma sauce as a topping for chicken shawarma, lamb, or as a dip for pita bread and vegetables.
